Lynell Vander Meide

Salt Lake City, Utah

Lynell, our beautiful Mother, wife, sister and Great Grandmother was
welcomed to her eternal home and family after passing away from
complications due to an accidental fall and failed surgeries to repair
her broken femur to hip.

Lynell was the first born of four children on May 12, 1941 at
Cottonwood hospital in Murray, Utah to Matthew Devine Madsen and
Delsa Maud Nielson Madsen. Lynell was raised mainly in the Salt
Lake City and Murray, Utah area. At the age of 8, May 4, 1950 she
was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints.

Lynell graduated from Murray High School, and worked different jobs
in the area. She worked with her father painting houses and at
Harmon's Kentucky Fried Chicken and Salt Lake Hardware store. She
met the love of her life at church, Peter Cornelis Vander Meide, they
were married and sealed for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake City
LDS temple on June 9, 1960. Their first child Thomas was born March
13, 1961, then Kenneth was born in July 1963 when they lived in Salt
Lake City. After a move to Murray, two more children were added to
their family, Lisa and Deborah.

As a wonderful leader Lynell served in several different auxiliaries of
the church. She enjoyed being a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and
was a very talented Home making leader in several different wards as
they moved around. She lived in Salt Lake City, Murray, Bountiful,
Fillmore, Utah then moved to Boise, Idaho and then went to Oregon
living in McMinnville, Tigard and Beaverton. But it didn't take long
for them to move back to Utah living in West Valley City, South Salt
Lake and Cove Fort, Utah. Then finally Pete and Lynell moved to
Idaho to live with their daughter Lisa and her husband Brett Furniss.
Her artistic talents flowed when she helped her Mother run a ceramic
store in their basement in Murray living next to her on Germania Ave.

She was a very successful Tri-Chem sales lady, stepping up the ladder
to a Regional leader when she lived in Murray and Bountiful.

She is survived by her husband Peter C. Vander Meide and her
children Kenneth, Lisa (Brett) Furniss of Blackfoot, Idaho and
Deborah (Dale) Huntsman of Richfield, Ut; siblings Marcha Wilde of
