Salt Lake City, Utah
Anthony Thomas Hoskins, lovingly known as Tony, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 28th, 2026 after a long battle with Heart Failure.
Tony was born on January 30, 1972, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Catherine Caputo Hoskins and Thomas Dee Hoskins. Tony lived life loudly and unapologetically. He was the kind of person who could walk into a room and instantly become the life of the party. He had a gift for making people laugh whether through his endless funny noises, the nicknames he gave everyone, or his ability to find humor in almost anything. If you knew Tony, chances are you have a story that still makes you smile.
Tony also lived a life marked by struggles and challenges that many never fully saw or understood. He carried heavy burdens throughout his life, and at times those struggles created distance between him and the people he loved most and those who loved him unconditionally. But beneath the hardships, mistakes, and difficult seasons was a man with a good heart, someone who loved deeply, even when guilt, pain, and life's challenges sometimes stood in the way.
Tony was the father of twin sons, Vincent (Bailee) and Nicholas (Alisha) Hoskins, whom he shared with Stephanie Switzer Fjeldsted. He was also the father of Xander and Tommi, whom he shared with Christol Williamson. He was a grandfather to seven grandchildren and treasured the moments he was able to spend with children and grandchildren.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Thomas "Tom" Hoskins; his sisters Mary Jo, Rita, and Gina; and his brother Michael.
He leaves behind his children and grandchildren; his mother, Cathy; his brother Jeff (Denise); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him and remember him in their own unique ways.
Tony's story was not simple. He lived hard, laughed loudly, and carried pain quietly. Those who loved him chose to remember not only the struggles he faced, but also the laughter he brought, the love he carried, and the person he was beneath it all.
May he finally find the peace and rest that may have felt out of reach during his time here. Services will be held on July 11th at 2:00PM at Mount Cavalry Cemetery.
